Öz

Medikal turizm sektörü son yıllarda küresel ölçekte oldukça ilgi gören bir alan haline gelmiştir. Stratejik öneme sahip bu sektörde rekabet üstünlüğü elde ederek gelirlerini arttırmak ve marka destinasyon yaratmak isteyen ülkelerin rekabet stratejilerine sahip olmaları gerekmektedir. Dünyadaki tüm dinler arasında Müslüman nüfusunun en hızlı artış gösteren kitle olması, gelişen orta sınıf ve artan harcanabilir gelir miktarı, helal turizm pazarının ve helal ekonominin gelişimini etkilemektedir. Helal turizm, bir turizm türü olmayıp, turizmin tüm türlerinin helal anlayışının benimsenerek sunulmasıdır. Medikal turizm fırsatlarından yararlanmak isteyen insanların dini görüşlerinden kaynaklı alacakları hizmetler karşısında yaşayacakları problemler ve hassasiyetlerine yönelik yapılan faaliyetler önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ikincil veri kaynaklarına dayalı teorik bir inceleme yapılarak, helal kavramının medikal turizmle olan ilişkisinin yansımaları, dünya ve Türkiye özelinde ne tür uygulamaların yer aldığının ele alınması amaçlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak ise dini hassasiyetlerinin medikal turizmde tüketici motivasyonlarından biri olduğu, İslami medikal turizmin Türkiye’nin sahip olduğu dini, tarihi ve kültürel miras ile birlikte güçlü bir şekilde gelişen medikal turizm sektöründe önemli bir rekabet aracı olacağı düşünülmektedir.
