The purpose of this study is to explain methods, tools of the effective supplier quality management, process and activities of global and lean supplier quality beginning with the function and role of supplier quality unit, performing at automotive industry, by explaining its relationship with other related departments; to explain methods regarding performance evaluation of the process by observing basic problems, factors affecting the process, risks and opportunities and finally after mentioning supplier relations management, analyzing the destionation of the study, vSRM software, and pros and cons of vSRM in details. The supplier quality department provides and controls the conformance of purchased goods with respect to customer requirements and expectations; it is a function that should be instituted not only in automotive industry but also all other industries, as taking the responsibity of tasks such as audit and evaluation, perfomance monitoring, corrective action follow-up, sub-component project management, supplier quality ranking and development.
